Black Joy & Black Tribulations by Anyla McDonald

Black Joy & Black Tribulations is a creation of fictional & non-fictional poems, short stories, and published essays. Inspired by Black History Month and my personal experiences of living in a predominantly white town. My writings are centered around Black Joy, Black Trauma, and Black Excellence. The intention of my book is to empower and encourage others to love and celebrate their Blackness. My writings will touch, move, and uplift you! This book takes you on a journey into my writing notebook that I use to express my feelings, thoughts, and emotions. My book sheds light upon what my ancestors may have gone through and the emotional trauma that still exists within our DNA. You will go through a never before experiential journey of R&B and Hip Hop music, one commonality the entire world shares. Black music's prevalence in the book is the very symbolism of how I cope and stay connected to my roots, while living in a space that lacks diversity, equity, and inclusion. Overall, detailing the Black experience in a very descriptive and authentic way through these eyes of a 17 year old girl.

Dare to Believe by Amy Korslund

This is a book on different areas in my life, where I needed healing, victory, and freedom.  This book is my journey of healing in the areas I have been broken. From the orphan mindset, to years of suffering seizures, even breaking generational curses. The faith I have in what Jesus can and will do is what brought me to live my life in freedom and with purpose.
