Book and Game at 1st & Main downtown Walla Walla
Book & Game, Co. of Walla Walla opened it’s doors in the Blue Mountain Mall in 1989. It was the 5th Book & Game store owned by Shannon Ahern of Spokane.
In November of 1999, Book & Game moved from the mall to it’s current location in historic downtown Walla Walla. In May 2003, after 14 years of business, Shannon sold the Walla Walla store to local residents Gene Bruns, Mike Bruns, and Jannelle Bruns.
Book & Game Company was purchased by Gene, Mike, and Jannelle Bruns on May 1st, 2003.
Gene, and his wife Jill, relocated to Walla Walla from the Seattle area in 1966. They raised their four children, Mike, Jeff, Jannelle, and David in the Walla Walla valley. Jill works at Walla Walla General Hospital. Gene teaches scuba diving at several area colleges and owns UnderSea Adventures in Kennewick, WA.
Mike, and his wife Misti, were both raised in Walla Walla. Mike is a real estate agent at Coldwell Banker. Misti owns Professional Products Salon & Beauty Supply on Isaacs St. They have two children.
After they moved back to Walla Walla, Jannelle’s husband JR became the Aquatics Director at the Walla Walla YMCA, while Jannelle works at Book & Game and home-schools their three children.
Jannelle, Mike, and Gene Bruns
